Our Responsibility

CRH is committed to embedding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as an integral component of its performance and growth strategy and to reporting annually on CSR performance.

The annual CSR Report describes CRH’s work in the four key areas of CSR: Corporate Governance, Environment and Climate Change, Health &Safety and Social. It also contains general information on CRH to facilitate understanding of our business and our approach to CSR. As CRH attaches great importance to openness in communications with all stakeholders, a chapter on communications is also included.

CRH was among the first companies in its sector to achieve full independent verification of its CSR Report, and as in previous years, the 2010 Report has been externally verified. Detailed verification statements are included in the Report. CRH has voluntarily adopted the “G3” Sustainability Reporting Guidelines developed by the GRI, and the 2010 Report complies with the requirements for an A+ application level.
